WHAT IS AI IN FINANCE?
89% of European banks have started working with Artificial Intelligence. American banks are putting AI at the top of the list for their technology efforts. But what exactly is AI? What are the applications of AI in finance? What are the opportunities, but also the risks of AI in the industry?
“AI in finance” is an online course jointly developed by the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
The course consists of video lectures, interviews with guest speakers, supplementary readings and quizzes, which guide participants through the various applications of AI in finance. Its online format allows for independent, self-paced learning, where the content delivered by a diverse group of AI experts can be accessed at any time.
Once the participants successfully complete the 18 modules, they will receive a Certificate of Completion jointly issued by CFTE and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

FIRST INDUSTRY-LED COURSE FOR AI IN FINANCE
Our mission is to provide our learners with the tools and the knowledge to embrace the AI revolution in finance. For this reason, we have created a reference course with the industry for the industry. Participants will be given a comprehensive overview on the most relevant trends through a very structured curriculum.

PRE-REQUISITES
There are no pre-requisites for taking the course.
Participants can get the most out of the course if they have a general knowledge of Fintech and innovation trends in finance. This could be achieved through a structured course such as CFTE’s Around Fintech in 8 hours, Oxford’s Fintech course, MIT’s Fintech course or similar courses.

A GUIDED JOURNEY INTO AI
A STRUCTURED COURSE TO UNDERSTAND AI IN FINANCE
The course has been designed to give a solid foundational knowledge about Artificial Intelligence, and how it applies to different sectors of finance.

On completion of the course, participants will be expected to:
- Have a good understanding of the main concepts behind Artificial Intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, machine vision, etc.

WHAT LANGUAGE IS THE COURSE HELD IN?
The course is entirely in English. All the video lectures are subtitled to make it easy for anyone to follow.
HOW MUCH DOES THE COURSE COST?
The course costs S$963 per person or S$333 after SkillsFuture Funding (for Singapore Citizens and PRs), and includes the access to all the video lectures, readings, interviews, discussion forums and assessments quizzes. The cost also includes the digital Certificate of Completion for those who have successfully completed all the assessments.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
Completing the course takes around 12 hours. The course is structured in 18 modules of 30 to 45 minutes, and participants can take the course at their own pace – either in one go, or over a period of several weeks or months. The course is available for 6 months from the start date.
